i love fall!

Our Sunday morning...
our usual stroller pic before our run..
We had brunch with Aunt Ashley and Uncle Byron at the famous Miltons and Isabelle was a hoot.. she was so giggly and friendly to everyone that walked by... and enjoyed some eggs, potatoes and french toast :).
 love this..

Jacob and I raked our thousands of leaves while Iz played in her composer seat in the front yard (it was our solution to getting the leaves picked up faster and it worked!).  I set Iz in the of leaves to see if she would like it and she was a little unsure, she didn't seem to like the feel of the leaves on her hands and I just couldn't stop taking pics...
This is Isabelle snooping in her birthday gift... we thought we could just "hide" her present in the office, little did we know she would be all into it and keep going in there to check it out.. pretty funny.
We had a wonderful Sunday as a family, nice weather and very productive... those are the best days!

Our little Minnie and Pumpkin pancakes!

We had nice Saturday morning of a run and delicious pumpkin pancakes... unfortunately Iz woke up with a super runny nose so we are back to the booger shooter and saline :(.  I just love this sweater, Iz wore it when she was about 3 months old, so now it fits a lot better.
It was pretty chilly out, so we were bundled...
One of Isabelle's favorite things is getting in bags and throwing everything out (I'm sure I've mentioned this before), so here she is hard at work.
caught you.

I found a recipe for pumpkin pancakes on pinterest (imagine) and I had been wanting to make them for awhile, so I finally did and they were delicious!  Isabelle was a huge fan of them!  One thing though, the batter was pretty thick, which made it hard to flatten them, so I may add some more milk next time I make them.
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (I did half white and half whole wheat flour)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (I used raw sugar, Turbinado)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 cup milk
  • 6 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg
~Stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, salt, nutmeg and cloves in a medium bowl.
~Whisk together the milk, pumpkin, butter and egg in a separate bowl. Fold this mixture into the dry ingredients.
~Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
~Pour 1/4 cup batter for each pancake and cook approximately 3 minutes per side.

One of Isabelle's new things lately has been taking off her pants (awesome, huh?), but usually it's her pj pants while she is hanging out in her crib in the morning... she stands up and tosses them over the edge and thinks it's pretty funny.  Here she is just being pantless during the day.

Halloween at work!

We had a trick-or-treat day at work for the kids and I was lucky enough to have Jacob drop Iz off for the event, it was the best!  Isabelle was a ballerina because we didn't have a costume yet and she just happened to have a super cute tutu (thanks Kenz!), the perfect ballet onesie (thanks Julie!), ballet slipper socks (thanks Runge!) and leg warmers.. voila! {if you notice that little yellow and blk outfit in the background, you will see the the debut of that on Halloween!  Thank you Jami for letting Iz wear Ara's bee costume!}
Izzy girl had so much fun hanging with the girls at work and playing with the shoe samples... thank you girls for entertaining mama so I could use the ladies room and get our stuff together to go home.
I just couldn't resist these pics of her crawling around in her tutu...

Isabelle and her new friend.

she absolutely loves this toy!  I highly recommend it if you need a gift idea for your little one for Christmas... and you may want to buy now because I guess it is supposed to be one of the top toys of the year for Christmas.
Just a little video of Iz with her toy... she has started saying 'oy' or 'oh' for her 'uh oh' and it's the cutest thing ever.. you hear her say it in here... I just love her little voice.

She loves to grab him and hug him.

Weekend with friends!

It was the big KU/KSU game and the game was at 11, so we had breakfast catered and it was quite the spread... it was delicious.  I made some pumpkin cupcakes that I will post shortly, they were also pretty tasty.  Abbey with Gresyon and Isabelle... she looks like a pro!
Isabelle and Greyson had lots of good bonding time, sharing each other's toys... now if Isabelle could just borrow some of Greyson's hair...
So fun to have friends in town for the game!
We got our picture taken with Bill Self (KU basketball coach for those who don't know)!  Isabelle and Greyson are 1 and have already met Bill... so famous.
And Baby Jay!
Thank you Larry and Dana for having us to your suite, it was wonderful!

We had Sally's baby shower on Sunday and it was such a beautiful day and lovely shower.  I got to make some more burp cloths and ended up stitching Sal's babe's initials on one of them, love that we already know her name!
Sisters... {unfortunately, I think my eyes are closed... bummer}
It was such a wonderful weekend, weather was great, got to spend quality time with Iz and good friends.. wish more weekends were like this!  It's so crazy how the older we get, the farther we seem to be from friends and the less time we have to keep up with them.. we start families and have different priorities and life is just different, not bad different, but different, a little bit of crazy and lots of fulfillment  and joy from our children.  Man, I'm such an adult!

Super Simple Pumpkin Muffins

I found this recipe on Pinterest and it seemed way too simple, I had to try it for the tailgate.  You literally just add a can of pumpkin to a box of yellow cake mix, mix it up and bake... I know, crazy right?!
The batter was such a bright orange and so pretty.
You bake them at 325 for 20-25 minutes, let them cool and then add powdered sugar to make them look pretty.  One thing I will do differently the next time I make them: add spices= nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and maybe some cloves... just because I love the spice taste and I thought they could use a little boost.
