:: Head for the Cure::

Sunday morning Iz and I got up early to go to KC for the 'Head for the Cure' race.  A group of us do the race every year in honor of a great mother and friend, Diane.  I have done it for 5 or 6 years and it's so fun to be a part of and to see everyone each year.  We miss you Diane!!
We did it!
Kellie, Jack and Henry
my best running buddy.
Hen was just checking Iz out ;)
We couldn't have had better weather, it was such a beautiful morning.
We had breakfast with dad when we got back and it was delicious.. had to share these pics of Iz trying to get a bite of her nanner, she makes the funniest face and just trys to get the biggest bite she can, it's actually kind of scary so we don't let her take her own bites very often.  She LOVES bananas!
We had such a wonderful weekend together, nice and low key.. my favorite.

All over the place...

Isabelle and Marissa... this is my friend from work that is obsessed with Isabelle, I can say that because she will tell you that and she wants to steal her ;).  Thanks for having us over for a little bit Friday night!
Isabelle enjoyed lunch with us, she tried some focaccia bread and grilled chicken off dad's pizza and of course, liked both.  Iz has figured out to drink from a straw so we were giving her a little water and she started blowing into it, making the bubbles, it doesn't sound as funny as I write it, but it was hilarious, we couldn't believe she had figured that out.  Then, she was blowing on the back of her hand and making fart noises, also hilarious.  She is so funny now and enjoys making us laugh.
my mama, love bug, boogie, boo boo.. and a million other names (including the special one we gave her)
Isabelle is all over the place and she loves anything she can touch and try to pull up on, including the dogs.
She is so funny because she always has to have something in her hand, even when she crawls, so I call it her peg leg because you just hear the little clink of her toy hit the floor every other step.
Iz's bridge... or, almost downward dog... she has started doing this, I guess one of the next stages to walking, aaaghh!
That is one of her favorite toys to hold and it's technically a bath toy so it goes in the tub with her and then she takes it with her when she gets out.. and every where else.

mama's 9 month doc appointment...

Izzy girl is looking long and lean these days... she is 27.5 inches long (39 %), which isn't much longer than she was at her last appointment, I just feel like she's longer for some reason.  She didn't really change in weight either, 17 lbs 8 ozs (21 %), just a little bit heavier than her last appointment.  Her head circumference is 17.5 inches (59%), yep, she has a big head.  The doctor said she looked perfect and that all was good, so that was good to hear.  We did talk about all the foods she can eat now, which is almost everything, so that's exciting.
The doc gave Iz a book to keep which was nice, we love books!
Izzy girl had to get her blood taken for the routine blood test and she was such a tough girl, the minute the nurse pricked her finger I kind of shuddered because I was waiting for the wail, but it didn't even faze her.  She seemed a little uncomfortable while the nurse was just squeezing the blood out of her finger into the vial, but who wouldn't be... she did so good, I was so proud of her!

hurray for the weekend!

Isabelle and I started our Saturday morning with a run to the Farmer's market.. we had intended for dad to pick us up, but he was still sleeping so we just ran home, it was pretty wonderful.
The girl and her feet... she sucks on her toes all the time!  We have lost a few toe nails and we aren't sure if it's because she has them in her mouth so much and since they are so thin, they just come off?  Anyone else losing toe nails or finger nails or have any insight on this?  The doc said, if it keeps happening, we may need to go to a dermatologist.. thanks doc, big help.
We had lunch with my mom in KC and to help entertain Iz while we were eating, we gave her a tortilla to suck on and she loved it... it seemed to work, lasted the whole time and we think she only got a few little pieces of it... the bottom picture is her telling Gram not to even think about taking it from her.
Iz loves to try and pull herself up on the coffee table now, danger, I know.. we had been doing so good and then when I was trying cover the corner with a blanket, she slipped and hit right above her eye.. she definitely screamed, but once I picked her up and gave her some squeezes and kisses, she was fine.. it's amazing how fast she bounces back and heals.  I think it killed me and didn't really faze her.  She really wanted that candle!
Pulling herself up.
Sunday morning before our run.. yes, she is holding mardi gras beads (another one of gram's clever toy ideas from house, it works, Iz loves them!).
I think more teeth are coming in, Iz has been chewing on everything.
I finally packed up the pumps, I am still nursing Isabelle at night before bed, but I don't think I will be needing the pump again.. until the next babe.  It's so amazing to not have to wash 10+ bottles a night!  I definitely don't miss that!
We went to buybuy Baby (own by Bed Bath & Beyond and it's like a glorified Babies R Us, amazing) on Saturday and got Iz this little door jumper, she loves it!
She kept trying to get to the wall and hold on.. she made it!
It was so hard to get some non-blurry pics because she kept turning and moving, so this was the best I could do.
We have been trying to get Iz on the same eating schedule as us (for the most part), so we went to lunch Sunday with Papa and Cooper and Iz sat in a high chair for the first time at a restaurant.  I did end up putting her in her car seat so it was easier and more relaxing for her to have her bottle (hence the 2nd pic of her trying to lean on the dirty, sticky highchair)... I looked over at her while I was eating to check on her status, only to find a nice surprise coming out of her pants!  I must have had the best look on my face because Jacob just started laughing... had to rush her to the bathroom before it was everywhere... I totally lost my appetite after that.
Izzy girl in her 'I heart NY' tee from Ash, it's a little big on her, but still cute :).  We had such a fun weekend together!

New Rolley Walker!

Isabelle's cousins gave her their walker from when they were little and she loves it!  It's our new thing in the mornings, she rolls/walks around the kitchen while I make breakfast and give her bites of her breakfast to keep her happy.. it works!  When we first put her in it, she just kept pushing backwards, but we kept working with her on going forward and now she seems to have the hang of it...  we are hoping it will help her walking skills... walking, scary.
