Belly Bumps!

I couldn't resist adding this picture... Runge is due a little over a month before me and her bump proves it!  I love how it sits right on top of mine :)!

It's amazing what the windows and roof do for it... so glad it's coming along!

29 Weeks!!

She is really sticking out there in this pic!  The Baby Center says she is about the size of a butternut squash and weighs approx. 2.5 lbs... she is definitely more active and doing what they call their gymnastics!  She goes crazy with cold drinks and ice cream!
So we had our first childbirth class last night and it was very informative (at least I thought so, Jacob is apparently a pro and already knew everything!)... we did a few stretches and Jacob learned how to massage my hands, feet, and back (I know, awesome!) and I know he loved every minute of it ;)!  There were a few times when he would mumble something under his breath and I would just crack up, I think we are totally cut out for this kind of thing!
We did share: Best thing about pregnancy and worst... my best is feeling her move and not being sick and my worst is acid reflux/heartburn, it's terrible, I have never experienced it and am so not used to eating TUMS!  Yuck, can't stand the chalkiness!  Just a few fun facts for you!

I have to share these most adorable little shoes I got from Stride Rite for our little one, just couldn't pass them up!
Little pink mice and zebras!  So stinkin' cute!  The zebra kind of has a mohawk which just makes them even cuter!

Quick house update....

The addition is now connected to our bedroom, with the base of the roof!  Pretty exciting!

Jacob and I have our first child birth class tonight so I will be sure to let you know how that goes tomorrow... I have a feeling we are going to be the outcasts in the back giggling during the whole thing... let's be honest, we are not serious people!  Should be an experience!

A little DIY project: Diaper Cake

I made a diaper cake for one of my best friend's showers this past weekend and they are just so fun to make and great center pieces/gifts so I thought I would share... just in case you want to make one!
Start out with a round base (I used thick cardboard and covered it with felt) about 14 inches wide, roll 60-80 diapers (depending on the diaper size, I used about 80 of the infant size) and secure with a rubber band.
Place a bottle of some sort in the middle (I have used champagne, this is a bottle of baby shampoo) and put your first row of diapers around it, then rubber band that and do the same with the second and third row.
Add your second layer around the bottle, repeat the steps from the first layer, but you only need two rows (I like the picture on the diapers to show so it adds more color, but it's personal preference).
Add the top layer and it's just one row, you may want to use some clear double stick tape if the bottle is too short to help the top layer stay on.
Then the fun part, find some fun ribbon to tie around each layer and cover up the rubber bands, then add fun toys and baby necessities and a cake topper (I love the rubber duckies, but you could use a big bow or whatever you want).  Enjoy!

28 weeks, 7 months today!!

We had our 28 wk appt. today, my belly has grown 2 cm (was 26 and is now 28) and I have gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks!!  She is getting bigger, Baby Center says she is about the size of a Chinese cabbage (below) and weighs about 2 1/4 lbs.  Her heartbeat was in the high 140s-150, which is good.  I was supposed to drink the sugar water that tests for diabetes, but it takes an hour and I had to get to work, so I will be doing that next week sometime... I've heard it's tasty ;).  We are doing good, she is extra active at night when I am trying to go to sleep, love how that works out!  My feet and ankles swell a little towards the end of the day, which is super attractive, but other than that, can't complain!

Here I am in what will be the new guest bedroom on the back of the house, nice and roomy!
I asked Jacob to get a closer picture of the belly and this is how it turned out (I didn't mean no head)... thanks dear ;)!

Week 4 of the RENO!

The second floor has walls!!
This is what was the closet/laundry room and bathroom (you can still see the tub), the wall that is left is our bedroom... I know, scary!  It's so hard to see our house like this!
Our bedroom is sad!  All the orange bags are trash if you were curious....
Jacob taped out some of the kitchen so I would have a better idea of the layout, the blue tape is showing the counter/cabinets and the hole in the middle is where the oven and stove will be... the big open area is going to be windows above where the sink will be.  I can't believe how much they got done while we were gone, such a relief!  They have 2 months left!
We have a doctor appt. Thursday morning and I will be 7 months, so I'll post again Thursday!
Ciao!

27 Weeks and the babe's first trip to the beach!!

Sorry for the 10 day hiatus, we have been in the Bahamas for the last week and unable to update the blog.  What you've missed....
About 26 weeks, we went to the doctor on the 5th (right at 26 wks), had the belly measured and listened to the heart beat which was 150, and found out we go back in 2 weeks already!  I can't believe we are already to the point where we go to the doctor every 2 weeks!
All the girls (minus Emme)!
This is 27 weeks...
Baby bump at the beach, just hanging out there (eek for the swimsuit shot, I know!)!
The family named the babe Matilda on the trip so they could call her something, so we now refer to her as 'Matilda'... pretty funny!  We think she likes to dance because every night at dinner when there was fun music, she was going crazy in there, moving all around.
There was a lot of progress on our reno while we were gone so I will post those pics soon!

Purchased our first outfit for the little lady!!

We bought our first outfit this weekend at Blue Dandelion in Lawrence and it's so stinkin' cute!!
(Jacob did not want to be in the picture (hence the tongue sticking out) but I told him he needed to show face on here ;)!)
Had to get a close up so you can see how cute the little owls are!
We have a thing for the owls!!

We have walls!!

It's easier to get a visual of the addition size now that the walls are going up!  So excited!!
Jacob and I have been over there trying to pack up more stuff and move things around inside and our house is a sizzling 82 degrees!  Talk about sauna ;)!
