Still waiting...

We/I have been taking so many walks, trying to help get this baby out.. Isabelle just loves it!  It was so windy during one of our walks that I carried her almost the whole way- wouldn't you think that would help push baby sister out?!  I have even been running up the stairs- what's the deal?!  Isabelle said it so perfectly on Monday, "Come on baby sister, it's time to come out.. come out and play with me!".. yes, come on girl!  We had a bit of a false alarm on Monday, thought she was going to show face, went to the doctor and the fluid test was negative and I was still at a 2 :(.  Her heart beat sounded so good and she was moving around while we were there so the doc was glad that she still seemed to be happy in there.. I guess we wait! 

We had a really nice lunch at a new place down town called 'Loopy's'- they are all about local, organic, healthy and quality ingredients.. so my kind of place!  They even have almond milk for lattes and not just soy milk, aahh!  Oh and some great bakery items.. we were going to get 1 cookie to split and walked out with 4 different things to try {all of which, are good}!  It's such a neat little place that looks like it would be in NY or Chicago.. you have to try it if you are ever in Lawrence {9th and New Hampshire}, we are big fans!  Okay, enough of me raving about Loopy's.. wait, one more thing.. we all got their pizza/flat breads and they were so good, the dough is amazing!  It was not a problem for Isabelle to finish her's off!

Of course we made a stop by the horsey!  This was actually funny, I was in the bathroom at Loopy's and heard somewhat of a scream that I knew only came from my child and just wondered what happened.. walked out and Jacob was like, "did you hear that scream?  I told her if she sat and ate her lunch and was good, then we could go ride the horse and she goes, YEAHHH!!".. it was pretty funny!  So yes, we bribe our child with horse rides, it's fine.

Okay, now everyone, fingers crossed that baby sister comes soon!  Isabelle keeps saying, "baby sister is coming soon" and "we are waiting for baby sister.. after she gets here, then we can go home" and "baby sister's coming tomorrow, yeah, let's do that, let's have baby sister tomorrow".. that's probably my favorite.. okay, let's!!

Oh the horsey!!

This girl absolutely loves to go down town and ride this carousel!  She was talking about going down town all Saturday, said it right when she woke up from her nap, so I told her we could go later or maybe tomorrow.. so, first thing Sunday morning, "we're going down town!  Going to ride the horsey!".. of course I took her.. unfortunately it was really windy and on the shaded side of the street, so it was a little chilly.

Aunt Ashley offered to have Iz go to Salina to hang with her and the kids while she was staying at the Turpin's and I just couldn't resist.. we both needed it- she got some kid play time and I was able to just relax and catch up on some z's.. I know that sounds lame since I am a mom and shouldn't want to be away from my child, but sometimes, you just need a break!  I didn't do a whole lot while she was in Salina, but that was just what I needed.. it was so weird to just be myself!  Thank you Ashley!!  I will say, it didn't take long for me to miss her and want her to be back with me, so it was good to get these pics of her having a good time with her cousins!

This video just killed me when I got it, makes me a little nervous how much she loved that microphone, but who knows, maybe she will be a singer one day?!  It's pretty long because she does not want to give the mic up, but it's worth the watch!

I was so excited for Iz and Jacob to come back!  You can tell someone dressed herself.. I wish I would have gotten a better pic because her drink is covering up her princess bling necklace!  Total rock star!

Last minute date night!!  My mom was going to come up and I came up with the brilliant idea that Jacob and I should go to dinner, just the two of us for our pretend Valentine's Day since we will likely either be in the hospital or about to be on Valentine's Day.. it was so nice.. this is my delicious red quinoa burger + greens!  Thank you mama!

We have been getting everything out and ready for baby sister, washing the car seat cover, the swing, bassinet, all that stuff.. Jacob bought some newborn dipes and brought the diaper bag up so I was getting it somewhat organized and couldn't get over how small the dipes are!  I feel like I don't even remember Iz being in diapers that small- time goes too fast!

:: Lawrence :: 39 weeks :: home stretch ::

We had our 39 week doc appt. and got officially settled in Lawrence.  My doc did the check and I was dilated to a 2 and 90% effaced {her head is so far down there that she had to reach around it to get to my cervix- how crazy is that?!  Sorry if that's TMI!}, so she thought we could have the baby anytime.. even said, we are talking now and we might have a baby tonight {obviously not the case, as it's almost been a week now :(}.. my belly was measuring at 37 which she said was perfect and her heart beat was about 155.. it's so fun to hear her heart beat, just unbelievable!  We got excited that we were going to have her in the next couple of days, but I guess she wasn't/isn't quite ready.. she still moves like crazy {which you can really tell that she doesn't have much room because my whole belly will just jut out to one side or bounce out when she moves} and causes me the most enjoyable acid reflux.. man I can't wait to be done with TUMS!

Izzy girl seems to think she is really little because she loves to sit in this walker thing and eat her meals.  Such a goof ball!

She just made me laugh, wanted to put her hat on herself, "no, I do it".. and this is how it turned out...

We don't know where she got this silly face from, but she has been making it a lot lately!  I know I say it a lot, but she is such a goof ball!  And you wonder how I started calling her 'turkey' and 'monkey'!

It was nice out so we went down town to walk around and Izzy girl ended up with a new pair of shoes.. she says, "these are my pretty shoes".. she was so excited about them, had to wear them out of the store!

Oh and we can't go down town without stopping by to see the horses!  This girl doesn't forget anything!  She totally associates down town with the horses.

Dinner with 'my dad'.. she's so funny and has been referring to us as 'her dad/mom', even when she talks to each of us about the other.. like, "where's my daddy at?".. just funny.

This is so terrible but I needed to get a 39 week belly pic- Jacob was sitting on the couch, so not the best angle!  Doesn't she look so low, just sticking straight out?!

Had to add this because Isabelle was in her pjs, ready for bed and wearing her princess shoes.. and taking millions of pictures of them on her feet!

We had such a nice night as a family, delicious dinner and ice cream from our favorite place down town, Syla's and Maddies!  Oh how I've missed that place!  I ate ice cream all the time when I was pregnant with Iz, but I know that's because we lived in Lawrence and were minutes away from Syla's and Maddies.. maybe that had something to do with me being so much bigger and swollen with her too? ;)  I don't know, but I will say, I'm so thankful that I'm not as swollen with this pregnancy.. I can still wear my wedding ring and all of my shoes.. my ankles don't really swell until later at night and it's nothing compared to how big they got with Iz.

Like mother, like daughter.. she sees me put my sunnies on and then immediately asks for hers- I love it!

We went down town to run an errand and have lunch with Sue Sue.. LuLu's Noodles- SO good!!  Izzy girl liked it too!  She has been eating so well lately, such a variety of foods- makes me happy!

Isabelle helped me make our energy balls {that I just recently posted, we really do make them all the time!}.

We were lucky to be in town the same time my friend Jayme and her littles were visiting so we got to meet Carter's new baby sister Sidney.. Isabelle looked like she was ready to hold her baby sister!  She loved holding Sidney and didn't want to give her back to her mom.

Iz and Carter were so funny when we were trying to leave, she had to run back to the door and say bye again.. they were both just waving so enthusiastically, for at least a minute!

Iz has been so funny with the whole baby sister thing and for the longest time thought she had a baby too because she had a belly button, I guess that's what she thought it meant {which we have explained several times}.  I was scratching my belly {yes, like a large man sitting on the couch watching TV with a beer in hand} and Iz lifted her shirt up and looked at me and smiled and I just couldn't resist the photo op...

It's hard to tell but she was sticking her belly out, trying to make it look more like mine.  

I love how she has her arm around my leg in this one...

Daddy!! + Valentine Crafts!

I went to Lawrence on Saturday to get Jacob and got to go to the game {not a good one, but we won't talk about that} and had to get a picture of the Jayhawks for Isabelle.. she loves them, it's the daddy Jayhawk and the baby.. she always asks where the mom is, so we've gotten pretty creative with those answers.  We drove back to KC after the game and went to dinner, just the two of us, nice little treat!  We went by my mom's first so Iz could see her daddy, it had been almost a week and she was so excited that he was coming to see her!

We had breakfast with the family Sunday morning and got a little extra time with daddy... Isabelle is always a huge fan of daddy's smoothies/ 'juice' to her!

Izzy girl got to help Sue Sue make some banana bread.. Sue Sue is so great about letting Iz sit right up to the counter and help whenever she's cooking and Iz just loves it- thank you Sue Sue because sometimes I want to scream when she's trying to help me in the kitchen {just being honest}!

We had fun Valentine craft time with some doilies and cards I got from the Dollar store and a potato that I cut into a heart stamp.

Do her two hands look like they make a heart?  That's the idea anyway...

The cookie sheet under the paint project is always a good idea, helps to keep the paint contained and it's easy to clean when you're done!

another day at Sue Sue's...

We wanted to get out of the house, so thought taking a walk was a good idea- negative.. it was freezing!  Way too cold for a walk with my little!  We didn't have her hat or mittens, so I found one of mine from high school {don't ask, pretty sure I never wore it} that was warm and she wore my gloves and blanket.. better than nothing right?!  She just looked so funny because that hat was way too big for her and kept turning and covering her face...

She is too much.. this is  her imitating me talking on the phone to the library {me sans glasses on the head, that's all her}.. it was pretty funny because she was sounding just like me and acting like she was asking a question about a book... oh and her phone, a plastic rewards card on some old keys she found..

This is trouble.. she figured out how to work the camera on my phone and take pictures!  Nice up the nose shot!

Close-up!!  There were a ton just like this one.. she just pushes the button over and over again!  Fun, right?!

I swear I have never showed Isabelle how to do anything on my phone and now she can run it on her own just about as good as anyone!  Scary!
