The Thumb!!

Isabelle found her thumb a couple days ago!!  She had found her hands a couple weeks ago, but she got the thumb in there on the 11th!  I watched her do it and it was the cutest thing, but I was like, "oh no!"... I don't want to start that habit!

Iz does this with her hand a lot and it reminded me of a picture of her dad... he still had WAY more hair!    

Their noses look very similar here!

I am going back to work next week, so that's going to be hard!  It will be weird not to be with Izzy all day, but I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things... it will be bittersweet.  I will let you know how it goes!!

So big! Isabelle's 2 month doctor appt!

 It was freezing out so I thought Iz needed a hoodie... first time to wear a hoodie :)!

She is so funny, she does so well at the doctor's office... she was so happy until they had to give her 3 shots in her chubby little thighs!  I felt so bad for her, I just held her hands, couldn't watch!

What can I say, the girl can eat!!  The doctor said she looked great and had no concerns about her development or anything, so we were happy about that!  She holds her head up so well now, grabs at things (including my hair!) and can keep herself entertained for 30+ minutes, which is nice!  We can't believe how big Isabelle is getting but are so lucky to have a happy, healthy baby!!

We love snow days!!

 Sleepy girls!

We got so much snow!  Our cars after they had already been cleared off about an hour before.

Lucy loves Isabelle and all of her stuff!  She would not get off her activity mat!  We had a fun day in the house with the whole fam!  Jacob was shoveling for over an hour in the morning, but the snow was non-stop all day so it was hard to keep up... we just layed around and watched the tube, it was kind of nice! 

Happy 2 months Izzy girl!

Dad gave Iz a bottle on her 2 month birthday, its pretty funny because she looks like she is ready to hold it herself!   The girl can chug!  She also enjoys watching the tube (hence her eyes focused straight ahead), already multi tasking ;)! 

I wanted to get Izzy out of her pj's for her big 2 month pic and it didn't go over so well, I mean, that is 'mad face'!  I think her skinny jeans are too tight on her thighs, it was like, "fat girl in little pants"!  I really had to work to pull them up and then they came up so high... so funny!  No wonder she's pissed ;).

Finally not mad, but she wouldn't look at me!  Like, whatever mom, get me out of these pants!  HA!  They are so stinkin' cute (love them Rachel and Lisa!), but my girl has got some thighs (and they made her have a muffin top)!  We tried!

To our little one: you are so much fun, you have become so 'conversational', you love to stick out your tongue and giggle at us and when we stick ours out at you, you stick yours back out and play that game... it's pretty funny.  You are so happy and smiley!  We love all your coos and sounds you make, sometimes it really sounds like you are talking.  You love to lay under your Mr. Octopus in the morning and kick your feet like crazy, once you are over that, you either swing or lay on your Boppy, then you either take a little snooze or hold out until it's time to eat again; we finally have you on somewhat of a routine so it's really nice!  You go to bed about 8-8:30 and sleep until 4:30-5 (thank you!), I feed you and then you go back to sleep until about 7:30... keep it up girlfriend!  You are still sleeping in the bassinet in our room, but you are so darn long, that we are going to have to move you to your crib sooner than we thought... that way you can stretch your arms out as far as you want!  Your dresser is getting delivered soon so we can get your room organized and you moved in!  You are still wearing a size 1 diaper, but we feel like they are getting to be a little small and your mom can't come to terms with it and refuses to buy size 2's yet!  A few new names we call you, Izzy J, Booger bear, and boogie, we have so many, you are probably so confused ;).  It's so fun to watch you grow and change, we love you Isabelle!

8 Weeks and a few firsts!

No hands!  We figured out how to use the Mobi Wrap and Iz loves it!  She just holds her head straight up, it's pretty funny.

Izzy has found her hands and tries to put her whole fist in her mouth... today she was holding her bink in!

It was pretty nice out so we went on our first walk and she loved it (I couldn't resist these two pics, 'peace' and 'hey you guys')!  Talk about putting a baby to sleep, she would pass out within 5 minutes of us strolling along... although, she was wide awake when I was running, maybe a little freaked out ;).

We had some Holiday decor!

It wasn't up until after the first of December (sorry, not the best pictures, looked better in person) but we did manage to get some lights up on the house and our ornament-less tree up, it was just too much to get all the ornaments out because we didn't get it up until about a week before Christmas!  It was nice to have some decor because for some reason it just didn't feel like Christmas this year... I think with moving back into our house, the new little one, and the weather being so nice, it was just a little weird and crazy... it seemed like Christmas was here before we knew it!

Happy New Year!!

We had a nice, low key New Year's Eve with some friends, food, games and drinks!  It was the perfect setting for us with the little one!

Yes, we did set the camera timer for this shot!

Iz hung out (while I put her to sleep) for a little bit while we played the game of 'Things'... so fun!  Jack got some great footage of us playing this game!  If you have never played, I highly recommend it!

 New Year's Day... Iz loves to play on her activity mat!

She loves Mr. Octopus, I mean, LOVES!  She kicks her legs all over the place and gets so excited, she just giggles and coos, it's so fun to watch.   She will also hold onto the the orange ring and the stars while she swings her arms around.  Thank you to work friends for getting us the Baby Einstein activity mat!!
