We stopped by Courtney and Kenny's after our run so Iz could hang with Emme and Harper.  It's so fun to have cousins close by for Isabelle to play + grow up with... I always wished we were closer to our family growing up, so I'm really glad she will have that.

Isabelle + Greyson + some egg dying

We had such a fun Friday, a bonus from our move to Salina, we are closer to our wonderful friends, 'the Wasingers'!  Runge {Lindsey} and I have decided that we will trade off at least every other week with driving to Wichita and Salina so we and the littles can hang out.. this was our first one!

We went to Gigi's for some egg dying and it was so fun to watch Isabelle.. I loved dying eggs when I was little, so it was fun to bring back those memories with my little {and friends + family of course :)}.

a little egg hunt practice...

We went to a neighborhood welcoming party and it was really nice to meet a bunch of people in our neighborhood, especially to talk to some of the other females that were in the same boat as I am when they moved here- made me feel a little more 'normal'.  One of the things I learned about is 'Salina Newcomers' and just as I was going to sign up from the newsletter a friend from Salina called inviting Isabelle and I to the Newcomer's Easter party... so we went, I don't think I would have just gone on my own, so I'm glad she called {thanks Jess!}.  We had a really good time, met a lot of other stay at home moms and their little ones.  I was worried about Isabelle doing the Easter egg hunt, like maybe she wouldn't know what to do, but girl, was I wrong?!  She was like, 'don't help me mom, I know what I'm doing!'...

 and had to carry her huge basket!  I felt so bad, I just grabbed a basket we had and I think we got it as a gift in the hospital or something {filled with goodies} and I kept it.. of course.

 Let's just say it's way too big to be an Easter basket!

All of the eggs were filled with toys and candy, Isabelle loved opening them while meeting lots of other little ones.  I was so impressed with her, she really just didn't hold back, she ran around and joined other groups of kids playing... it was so fun to watch.  It felt so good and rewarding leaving, I was so glad that Isabelle had such a good time and it was like I was proud of her.. she did so good!!

 She tries to carry everything at one time and has realized she can tuck things under her chin to help her hold things... such a smarty!

 We have taken so many walks around the little circle of our neighborhood, there are actually 2 different ones, but I'm sure our neighbors are very familiar with us already!

:: our first family race ::

There was an April Fool's Day 5k on Saturday morning and Jacob agreed to do it with Isabelle and I for the first time, so I was pretty excited!  We were running late {surprise, I know} because the stroller had a flat tire, I mean, of all mornings!  Our tire pump is still packed somewhere so we stopped by Papa and Gigi's to borrow theirs, then picked up Betsy a few minutes before 8 {race started at 8}.  Luckily we weren't far from the race start line and they were a few minutes behind in getting started.. we literally parked as the gun went off!  We joined right in though and caught up pretty quick.. we ended up finishing at 30 mins, which we think would have actually been about 25 had we started on time.

 It was a pretty hilly and bumpy race, but Isabelle loved it, just hung out and said hi to people as we passed :).  She was still in her pj shirt, as I just grabbed her out of bed and we left.

 Betsy and I went with the neon them and I wore a KU shirt for the big game that night.. don't you love our socks?!  Target, $2.50.. steal!

I just had to share this picture of Isabelle, she thought the socks needed to go around head/neck for some reason... it was the funniest thing in the store!  She also has her bath letters and numbers in her lap, she loves them - recommend!  They stick on the sides of the tub {and Iz :)} with just being wet, so we have been working on our counting and letters during bath time.

 We went for a walk while we waited for Hen and Kel to come over for lunch.. love that scrunch face!

 Hats!  I really thought she would wear one of them... nope!  She does say 'hat' though!  We had a nice little lunch on the patio at the country club while the dads golfed.

 Isabelle has quickly figured out where the crackers are so she goes to the pantry and asks for crackers... a lot! 

 ready for the big game {found those super cute leg warmers at a local baby store here.. 'Simply Baby' and they do have KSU ones :)}!!  And yes, we had people over again to watch the game.  I really can't believe Isabelle slept through all of the yelling... again!  She's amazing!

Our Sunday.. Isabelle and I went for a little run.. with the big KU win {hurray}, Jacob celebrated quite a bit and was still sleeping, so we decided to get out of the house.

I kept hearing her say, 'hi, hello' and jabber some things, so I looked down and saw this, it made me smile... and of course, stop to take a picture {it's kind of hard to see at first glance, but her phone is up to her ear}.

 We went over to Jim and Jane's {Kel's in-laws} to play with the bubble machine with Henry and Kellie.

 Isabelle loved all the flowers, the dog {Ruby}, and the bubbles of course!

We had such a nice weekend with some quality friend time which was really nice and much needed!

Our friends were in town for the weekend so Isabelle was excited to hang out with Henry {or 'emry', as she says.. so cute}.  We went on a nice little walk and they enjoyed their wagon ride.

As I'm sure you've noticed, Isabelle doesn't really wear much in a way of hair accessories, but lately, she has been wanting to put things in her hair.  She sees them in mine or other kids and wants to try it out!  SO, these are flower clips that came with a head band and Isabelle loves to carry them around while she says 'fwowers' and she wanted me to put them in her hair.. she put the first one up to her head and handed it to me, then the other two, so I just put them all in!  Doesn't she just look great?!  Like a flower child or something... she's totally my flower child!!
