Isabelle's 8 month pics...

We could not decide on which pics to get, so we got them all (of course)... we got the disc in the mail a couple of weeks ago and I have been meaning to share them, so here are some of my favorites (and there are more, I was just trying not to put them all on here ;) )...
Becca did such a great job, we just love them all!

11 months... I can't believe it.

Our precious little Isabelle, you are getting so big and developing into such a wonderful little girl.  We can't believe you are almost 1, where has the year gone?
Some things that have been going on with you in the last month...
~you are still wearing size 2 diapers and anywhere from 9-18 month clothing
~you have 3 7 oz bottles every day, with meals and snacks in between and I still nurse you a little bit before bed (you insist)
~you have 2 more teeth that are about half way down on either side of your top 2 teeth (so we have about 6!)
~you wear some size 2 shoes, but you prefer not to have anything on your feet
~you love to flip over and crawl away when you are getting your dipe changed, not very fun for mom and dad
~you love to crawl everywhere and you are a fast mover
~you make some funny noises and really sound like you are having a conversation sometimes
~you pull up on everything, you love to stand!  you are standing in your crib greeting us every morning when we come in.
~you love to roam around the kitchen in your walker and play with all of your toys in your room
~you have mastered the wave and started saying 'hi'
~you have started laying your head on my shoulder, especially before bed and it's one of my favorite things, so sweet and cuddly.
~you have such a fun little personality and you love to laugh and giggle
~you are so smart, you know what things are and where we left them the day before.. no more fooling you!
~you have started to grow some more hair, mostly in the back, but it's still pretty short
~we have had fun giving you new foods and letting you eat from our plates at meals, you are such a good eater!
We love you more than anything and are so excited to continue to watch you grow into an amazing little girl.  Love, mom and dad.

We found a sippy cup!

Just Iz and I after work..
extreme close up.. I feel like she looks a little different in these pics, I don't know if it's because they are so close or the angle... who does she look like?
We finally found a cup Isabelle will drink out of!  She loves straws, so I found one with a straw (it's Playtex) and magic, she drinks out of it and loves it!
she was getting so excited about it and would open her mouth so big, like it was a bottle or something and then realize how small the straw was, it was pretty funny.  I'm just glad we found one she will drink out of because she doesn't like the ones with handles or the rubber tops... who knew she would be so picky about sippy cups!

Ashley's Baby Shower...

It was a good time and she got lots of great stuff for 'Petunia' (that's her baby in the belly name, like our Matilda).  We passed on the bassinet and all the newborn, 0-3 month and 3-6 month clothing, it was nice to get rid of some of the stuff, but also sad... bittersweet.
I gave Ashley these burp cloths, it was my first attempt at making them and it was a success.  A friend made some of these for me (from cloth diapers) and they were my absolute favorite burp cloths, so I had to make some and pass them on.  They are so simple, all you need is:
  • tri-fold cloth diapers (I searched for awhile because I was being super picky and ended up with Gerber, the thickest ones they had)
  • flannel material, (you don't need very much, I just got 1/4 of a yard and you can make 2 or 3 out of it) or a cotton twill, I just like the flannel because it's so soft
  • thread
*Cut the material so that it's the same size as the middle of the cloth diaper with 1/4" seam allowance all the way around (about 6" wide, but each diaper is a little different), then pin the edges under at the seam allowance.
*Pin it to the center of the cloth diaper and then sew around the edge... simple as that!  The edges won't be perfect because the diapers aren't, but you can make them look pretty good!  I plan to make some more so I will let you know if I have any more pointers... let me know if you have any questions!

Isabelle and I went for our run Sunday morning before the shower and it was pretty chilly out, so I let her stay in her jammers...
our runs are so good for her morning nap.
this one cracked me up, it's her 'michael jackson' pose.
'really mom, do you have to take pictures of me right now?'
love you little mama!

:: Game day ::

Iz loves to pull up on the coffee table and grab for everything on it.. and I couldn't resist taking a pic of that bum!
yaaayyy! {she just claps and gets so happy when you say 'yay'}
While we were at the tailgate, Fox Sports came over and asked us all to be on a commercial for during the game, so of course, we all said yes... little did we know, we would have to say the rock chalk chant like 5 x and cheer and look excited every time.. it was actually pretty funny, but we did make the opening shot of the game!  We are famous!
Iz felt out of place without a plastic cup and kept grabbing ours, so we gave her her own and she loved it.
We took Isabelle in to her first football game and it was a success... it was pretty hot in there and she started getting antsy a little before the first half was over so I went to the car so she could eat and I could change her pants.
Just lounging, havin' my bottle.
We were a little late for Iz's nap and she was pooped, she was out the minute I layed her down...
Isabelle is such a trooper, she just goes with the flow and is happy 99% of the time, no matter what her crazy parents have her doing.  We are so lucky to have such a wonderful little child with the best personality.  Just when I think I couldn't love her anymore, I do.

Work fun day!

As part of the 'Fun Committee', we had to plan a team activity/offsite and we decided to do something outside before the weather gets bad, so we rented a shelter at Lake Clinton in Lawrence, ate lots of food, played kickball and had a relay... we had a lot of fun... hence the cookie cake ;).
this was my team... we won :).
major action shot...
the ball we played kickball with was huge, made it kind of hard to kick, catch and throw, which made it pretty entertaining!
Virginia and Lindsay... our score keepers/too lazy to play team members ;)
The weather could not have been more perfect, it was so nice to get out of the office early on a Friday and exert some energy with the team... We are so lucky that our forces from above support activities like these!

oh how we love owls...

we just happened to coordinate again so i had to get a pic...
and it's too bad this picture was so dark and looks funny now that i brightened it, but iz just looked so cute and happy, i had to share it...
it's so weird that it's october and iz is in a tank dress... just doesn't seem quite right.
i just love seeing iz and dad together...
