Happy 6 weeks!!

Our little one is 6 weeks and changing so much everyday!  She is making so many different noises and sometimes sounds like she is talking to you, she is very alert and can track really well.  My favorite thing is when she smiles at me and dad, she can have some big grins and they are so cute, definitely has the "social smiles"!  She will almost laugh sometimes, especially when we are changing her dirty pants and she shoots one at us!  She has a sense of humor ;)!  We can tell she knows our voices now because she responds with the cutest faces.  She had her first tear a couple days ago and it was so sweet, she wasn't crying or anything, just laying on her back and one rolled out the side of her eye... so precious!  One other thing that gets me is her pout face, she gets the lip going big time and it's the cutest thing ever!  She can also hold her head up now for quite a while, it's crazy how strong she is... if we just hold her under her arms, she will stand up and keep her head and body perfectly straight.  She is growing so much, wears size 3 in clothing and some of the footies are almost too short for her long self!

Love this, her milk comas after she eats (the fact that her belly is out makes it even better!).. so peaceful! 

She LOVES to kick her legs, we call it "ridin' dirty" (yes, you guessed right as to what we are referring to)!  I was trying to get a picture of her cute socks and this is all I could get for awhile!

For those of you that I have confused with the post dates, I am a little behind so I have been changing the post dates so they are in order and on the correct dates.  We hope you are enjoying it, it's really been fun to do and we love keeping our friends and family in the loop!

Milestone: Isabelle's first bath!

Her first reaction to the water... very unsure!

She gave me the funniest faces, like, what are you doing to me mom?!

Then she decides it's not so bad and she likes it, especially because she can kick her feet!

She did so good and happens to love bath time, we are so glad!

Getting her into the bath at first was fun because she peed on me twice and pood down my shirt when I took her diaper off (the reason for my shirt being rolled up in the front, I definitely wasn't trying to be cute ;) ), but once we got her in the tub, it was fine... I guess she just emptied out on me!

Isabelle's one month doc appt...

She was technically 5 weeks old on Monday (appt was Thursday 12/16, which is the anniversary of her grandpa's death, so we are remembering my dad, the reason for her middle name being Jeffrey (also her papa's name!), we miss you and love you dad, wish you could meet Isabelle, you would love her!!).... our little one is a big girl!  She weighed 11.8 (in the 93rd percentile!), was 22 inches long (73rd percentile) and her head circumference was 15.5 inches (88th percentile), 'dang girl' is right!  No wonder her cheeks have filled out ;), Gigi said it looks like she is storing up for the winter!  My friend Runge and I were joking that we must have heavy whipping cream for milk because Greyson was 11.8 at his one month appt. too... sad thing for Iz is, he is a boy and that's probably totally normal ;)!!  She did so good at the appointment, was as happy as could be, considering she was nakey on the table and the doctor was messing with her the whole time!  She is notorious for having a pant full when he opens her diaper... nice!  He said she had really great skin, but that it will get bad (baby acne) before it gets better, so that was encouraging to hear... thanks doc!  Isabelle is sleeping pretty well (knock on wood!), goes to bed anywhere from 10-11 and sleeps until 3 or 4 (awesome!) and then goes back to sleep until 7 or 8, it seems like we are kind of on a schedule now which is really nice... hope it lasts!

She loves her 'I heart Kentucky' onesie she got from the Kuhns family in Kentucky!!  Thanks again Kuhns's!

Had to put another one, just couldn't decide between the 6 I took and thought these were pretty cute (I know, they probably look the same to all of you)!

Yay for being home!! And Isabelle is 5 weeks old!

We slept at our house for the first time Monday night and it was/is so nice to be home!!

We got Iz's bed together with all her bedding, so we had to let her try it out!  She still sleeps in a bassinet in our room, but her bed is ready for when we make the transition!

Isabelle's room... it's still very empty, we are in the market for a dresser and rocking chair (any ideas?), hopefully we find them soon so we can get her clothes more organized and her room done.

This is what we woke up to on one of our last morning staying at Tucker Trail and I just thought it looked so pretty... finally starting to feel like Christmas!

Isabelle just happened to be in a Christmas onesie... we had a photo shoot, these are just two of many ;)!

Milestone: Isabelle had her first bottle! And babysitter!

I pumped for the first time yesterday and let me tell you, it's kind of strange!  My mom was there to witness the first one and it's just funny!  Just like milking a cow!  I had my mom give her the bottle so it wasn't coming from me (help avoid confusion) and she did so good, she was hesitant at first and then started chugging!  It was really nice to be able to work at our house, leave Isabelle with my mom and not have to worry about getting back to feed her.  Jacob was able to feed her too which was nice, a little father/daughter bonding time!  I will say, cleaning all the bottles and pump parts is kind of a pain, it's much easier to just whip it out and put it back!

I meant to post this picture sooner and forgot... look at the cute onesie Jacob brought home from NYC for Iz!  Her first of many gifts from travels!

We are moving home!!

We had our occupancy inspection on Wednesday and are cleared to move in!!  We are in the process of moving back in and it's the best feeling ever!!  We started organizing the kitchen and unpacking all of our stuff that was boxed up, makes it seem more like home again!  Thanks to Gigi, Isabelle's room is all painted and perfect, it looks so pretty, we can't wait to get it all set up!  Jacob put her crib together yesterday so she has a bed!  We were going to stay there last night or tonight but are getting it cleaned and the cable/internet hooked up on Monday, so we decided to hold out and not bring Isabelle home to a dusty house... and at this point, what's two more nights?!  It's not 100% done, but we can finish what's left while we are living there.  We are hoping to get the Christmas tree up tomorrow so it feels somewhat like Christmas!  I will post new pics soon... the anticipation ;).

Our little Isabelle is 1 month old!

A few highlights of your first month in this world...

Here I am, 1 month old! 

I had to start with your favorite sleeping pose!  You love to take naps on your Boppy pillow so I put it in the middle of the bed (so the pooches can't lick you to death when I'm not looking) with pillows around you and you always look so happy and content.  We have developed quite a few nicknames for you already (other than Izzy and Iz).. little boogie/booger, little mama, worm, pumpkin, sweet girl.

You make the best faces... looks like you are starting to get chubby cheeks to take after me and we love your dimples!  

You are such a little piglet, you love to eat and are starting to get those adorable baby rolls.

You can't really fit into your newborn clothes anymore, sadly, the outfit you wore home from the hospital is too tight!  We like to put you in 0-3 months and some of those are even a little tight in the length, you are so long!  You can still fit into newborn diapers, but you also wear size 1, they give you a little more room in the bum so you don't get diaper rashes!

You love to sleep in bed in between mom and dad (is that a scowl you have on?), that's how I get you to sleep later in the morning ;).  You have been sleeping pretty well though, we had one 6 hour streak which was amazing!  You usually sleep from about 9:30-10:00 to 3 am and then get up about 7.

We are so glad you like to sleep on your tummy and you love tummy time with dad.  It's amazing how strong you already are, you can hold your head up for almost a minute and can keep your legs locked like you are standing.  You also have quite the grip on fingers!  You love to have your hair washed and get into your pjs!  We love to see your little smiles and hear all the noises you make... sometimes you sound a little bit like your sister Lucy!  We are excited for all the milestones and memories to come! 

We love you so much and can't imagine life without you!
