Friends come to visit!

Isabelle's friend Henry loves to sit and bounce on her Rody!  I can't wait for Iz to enjoy it!
Thanks for coming to meet me Laura!!
Please disregard Iz's mess of a room, we are getting her dresser in a couple of weeks so we should be able to get it organized then!!
Henry loved eating at Zen Zero!  He forgot his bib, so he borrowed Iz's and was a princess for his meal ;)!  We had frozen yogurt for dessert and it was a trip!  Henry couldn't get enough yogurt and Iz had ants in her pants because she was ready to eat... too bad I couldn't just give her yogurt!  Kel, Laura and Henry, thanks for coming to visit and having lunch with us!
It was a beautiful 60 degrees today (so crazy for December!) so I thought we would get a little wear out of her short sleeved onesie she got from her aunt Ash... unfortunately it won't fit her when it is warm!

Iz is 7 weeks and Happy Birthday to Gram!!

Our little one is so smiley these days, love it!
Happy Birthday Gram!  She is in KY for her special day, but we are taking her to dinner when she gets back :)!
Holy flash mom!
Iz is so strong and loves her tummy time!
A little smile :)
I took this at a funny angle, but I couldn't resist posting it because of those cheeks and double chin... such a little chub ;)!  Notice the variety of outfits, some days she has several outfit changes due to those baby tendencies ;)!

Top 10 Things I learned...

while pregnant (in no particular order):
1. Stay active/ work out!  It helps labor go more smoothly (if that's possible) and you bounce back faster after the babe has left the building!  I think all around, it helps with everything pre and post pregnancy.

2. Rub your belly with oils or body butter (or both) every morning after you shower and every night before bed.  I used Burt's Bees 'Mama Bee' belly balm (below) and loved it (and no stretch marks!), probably went through 4 or 5 tins!  Thank you Runge for giving me my first one!
3. Stay away from onions and garlic if you have heart burn or acid reflux!  There are probably other foods that will bug you, you will just have to figure them out as you go and everyone is different!

4. Carry a large container of TUMS with you at ALL times!  Trust me!  I never thought I would take stock in Tums and I never ate them before I was pregnant and haven't had once since, but holy smokes were they a lifesaver while I was pregnant!

5. Eat healthy, small meals throughout the day... this worked well for me because I felt like I was always hungry!  You should do this even when you aren't pregnant, but at least you get 300 more calories when you are ;) (I know, it's not very many... unfortunately you aren't really eating for two!)!

6. Buy a couple pairs of maternity pants that will go with everything, I found cute ones for pretty cheap on 'DestinationMaternity.com' in their sale department (I was all about not spending much green on maternity clothes).  Another good find was Topshop (store is in NYC, but they have a website, just make sure you change it to US so you don't pay pounds ;) ), they now have a maternity line that is actually cute and doesn't scream maternity!  I really just tried to buy regular clothes that I can still wear now.  Always check Target too, I got a lot of great basic tops that were nice and long that I still wear... they also have some cute maternity clothing for good prices.  One last place... Forever 21 started their maternity line towards the end of my pregnancy so I didn't buy any of it, but that seems to be the way to go, trendy and cheap!

7. Join 'babycenter.com', it's so great and informative... you can plug in your due date and it will send you updates every week about how your little bun is growing and the changes you will be experiencing.  I loved it, and still use it, it was nice to know that things that were happening to me were normal!  I have learned a lot from babycenter, it's a great tool while you're pregnant!  There is also 'TheBump.com' and a few other sites, but I got/get the most from babycenter.

8. I would say take at least one class at the hospital, whether it's the childbirth class or breastfeeding, as they say, knowledge is power (I know, cheese!), but for real, Jacob thinks it was a waste of time and money, but I disagree, I think it helped prepare me some for the whole labor process... there are a lot of things that people don't tell you about labor, so it was nice to get some facts!

9. Put your feet up every chance you get!  Especially towards the end of your pregnancy... I had a tall box under my desk at work so I could have my feet up during the day and I would put them on chairs in meetings.  At first I thought it was silly, but it really helped and everyone at work was so nice and understanding about it... it seems like you can get away with anything while you're pregnant!  I miss that ;)!

10.  Read these books, "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" and "Baby 411".  I started reading "Healthy Sleep Habits" in the last few months of my pregnancy (which I recommend reading it some before the baby arrives), it's not the most exciting book (I know, sorry), but it makes a lot of sense and helped us get Iz on a sleep schedule pretty quick.  Thanks to Kellie and Katrina for telling me it was a must read!!
I got this book from my bestie right before Iz was born (literally), it was like a sign, Runge texted me on Sunday saying she sent me something and that I had to get it before I could go into labor, so on my way to the hospital, I picked up Jacob from our house and the mail man pulled up to our car right as we were pulling away with the package!  Best surprise ever!  It's a great book to reference because it's divided up by subjects, which makes it easy to find what you're looking for a lot faster and it's an easy read, I love it!!  Thanks Runge :)!

I hope this helps my fellow pregnant friends!!  There are so many things that happen to your body while you are pregnant and after labor, but everyone is different and handles things differently, so you will have to see what works best for you!  Much love!  L.

Our first Christmas as a family of 3 (well, 5 really)!

Isabelle was our little present on Christmas Eve day (we were trying to get her in all her Christmas outfits!) and of course, her arms are up!  Get ready, this is going to be a long post, we took a lot of pics of our little one!
This was on the bum of her outfit!  Too cute!
Iz with Gigi
And Papa!
Christmas Eve and church outfit (she matched Emme and Harper, so cute!)... also Izzy's first time in tights!  Ha!
Merry Christmas!  Iz with dad Christmas morning, in her 'My first Christmas' dress.
Family photo :)
Iz with Aunt Ashley... she's pooped from opening all her gifts!
Had to add this one, everyone says (including me) that she looks like me in this pic!
Had to add this pic of me (with grandma and grandpa Kuhns) just so you can compare... what do you think?
Time for bed!  She had the cutest Christmas pjs that she got from Gigi.  We had Christmas carolers come to the door Christmas night and it was really neat, they were really good and when they saw Isabelle sleeping in Gigi's arms, they sang 'Silent Night' too her... it was so sweet, made me teary!  We had a wonderful Christmas, Isabelle is so loved and got so many great things, we can't wait for her to play with them all!  Thanks to our friends and family for everything!  We hope you all had a wonderful Holiday!  Much love from the Wilsons!

Happy 6 weeks!!

Our little one is 6 weeks and changing so much everyday!  She is making so many different noises and sometimes sounds like she is talking to you, she is very alert and can track really well.  My favorite thing is when she smiles at me and dad, she can have some big grins and they are so cute, definitely has the "social smiles"!  She will almost laugh sometimes, especially when we are changing her dirty pants and she shoots one at us!  She has a sense of humor ;)!  We can tell she knows our voices now because she responds with the cutest faces.  She had her first tear a couple days ago and it was so sweet, she wasn't crying or anything, just laying on her back and one rolled out the side of her eye... so precious!  One other thing that gets me is her pout face, she gets the lip going big time and it's the cutest thing ever!  She can also hold her head up now for quite a while, it's crazy how strong she is... if we just hold her under her arms, she will stand up and keep her head and body perfectly straight.  She is growing so much, wears size 3 in clothing and some of the footies are almost too short for her long self!
Love this, her milk comas after she eats (the fact that her belly is out makes it even better!).. so peaceful!
She LOVES to kick her legs, we call it "ridin' dirty" (yes, you guessed right as to what we are referring to)!  I was trying to get a picture of her cute socks and this is all I could get for awhile!
Got them!
I can't believe I forgot to add this pic of her sporting dad's hat!  To all my fellow K-Staters, Jacob is already working on her!
And, couldn't resist this one, she looks like she's dancing!  1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3!
Had to include Lucy sitting pretty in her sweater!
For those of you that I have confused with the post dates, I am a little behind so I have been changing the post dates so they are in order and on the correct dates.  We hope you are enjoying it, it's really been fun to do and we love keeping our friends and family in the loop!

Milestone: Isabelle's first bath!

Her first reaction to the water... very unsure!
She gave me the funniest faces, like, what are you doing to me mom?!
Then she decides it's not so bad and she likes it, especially because she can kick her feet!
She did so good and happens to love bath time, we are so glad!
Getting her into the bath at first was fun because she peed on me twice and pood down my shirt when I took her diaper off (the reason for my shirt being rolled up in the front, I definitely wasn't trying to be cute ;) ), but once we got her in the tub, it was fine... I guess she just emptied out on me!

Isabelle's one month doc appt...

She was technically 5 weeks old on Monday (appt was Thursday 12/16, which is the anniversary of her grandpa's death, so we are remembering my dad, the reason for her middle name being Jeffrey (also her papa's name!), we miss you and love you dad, wish you could meet Isabelle, you would love her!!).... our little one is a big girl!  She weighed 11.8 (in the 93rd percentile!), was 22 inches long (73rd percentile) and her head circumference was 15.5 inches (88th percentile), 'dang girl' is right!  No wonder her cheeks have filled out ;), Gigi said it looks like she is storing up for the winter!  My friend Runge and I were joking that we must have heavy whipping cream for milk because Greyson was 11.8 at his one month appt. too... sad thing for Iz is, he is a boy and that's probably totally normal ;)!!  She did so good at the appointment, was as happy as could be, considering she was nakey on the table and the doctor was messing with her the whole time!  She is notorious for having a pant full when he opens her diaper... nice!  He said she had really great skin, but that it will get bad (baby acne) before it gets better, so that was encouraging to hear... thanks doc!  Isabelle is sleeping pretty well (knock on wood!), goes to bed anywhere from 10-11 and sleeps until 3 or 4 (awesome!) and then goes back to sleep until 7 or 8, it seems like we are kind of on a schedule now which is really nice... hope it lasts!
She loves her 'I heart Kentucky' onesie she got from the Kuhns family in Kentucky!!  Thanks again Kuhns's!
Had to put another one, just couldn't decide between the 6 I took and thought these were pretty cute (I know, they probably look the same to all of you)!
