Sooo...

if anyone was wondering why I didn't update to 20 weeks on Sunday, it's because I updated my new due date on the 'due date/bean timer' calendar and it put me at 19 wks on Sunday, so I should be 20 weeks this Sunday... so confusing ;)!  I am anxious to go back to the doctor on the 6th and have another sonogram to see if we are still on track for Nov. 11th, or back to Nov. 1st!  I'll keep you posted!
Ciao!

19 weeks and the size of a tomato....

19 weeks: Baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Her arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of her body now. Her kidneys continue to make urine and the hair on her scalp is sprouting. A waxy protective coating called the vernix caseosa is forming on her skin to prevent it from pickling in the amniotic fluid. ~Babycenter.com

From a great book, from a great friend....

I thought this was great and the perfect way of explaining the wonderful world of pregnancy (from the book 'Bump it Up' by Amy Tara Koch, thank you again Abbey!)... "It's no secret that pregnancy doth not bring out one's inner glamour girl.  Hormones flow, stomaches protrude, and once-clear complexions zigzag with "nonspecific dermatitis" (isn't that the truth... ugh!).  Workouts are traded in for TiVo.  A nondescript sack filled with Cheetos replaces the once-chic hobo.  And fashion obsessions are usurped by fantasies of tucking into a vat of buttery mac and cheese (yum).  Yes, denying one's fashion instincts and reaching for your fat pants- those baggy sweats in your bottom drawer reserved for sitting about the house on Sundays- is a natural response to pregnancy."

The belly and jean shorts!

Since the doctor pushed the due date out, that would make me 18 wks now.  I found these wonderful tanks today at Target, nice and long and super soft.... they are great for accommodating the growing belly!

Our first sonogram and attempt to find out the baby's sex!

We had our first sonogram today and first off, the baby is healthy and has all of its limbs and parts, so we are very thankful for that.  Unfortunately, it was sitting on its bum with legs crossed the whole time, the doc had me moving around, laying on my side, all sorts of stuff to get it to move.. it didn't, so we had our appt. with the doc and then she tried a sono after and  was able to see right between the legs pretty well, she said she is pretty sure and thinks it's a GIRL, but she said to keep tags on anything we buy just in case.  We will know for sure at our next sono in 4 weeks!  We were so anxious to know, but we will just have to wait a month before we can call it a girl or a boy... the doc did see the three lines which mean girl and it didn't have the male parts, but she also said the boys can hide their stuff or hold it up, so we'll see... stay tuned!
Here are a few pics from the sonogram, they are amazing!  Our little  bean is so cute already!

It looks like its sucking its thumb, or giving you the, "you smelt it, you delt it" sign!

I don't think she/he liked being poked at when we were trying to get her to move, she kept arching her back like that, it was pretty funny!  And, the spine is unreal!

There is the little foot!!

Our little baby just hanging out... so precious!

OH! And, she pushed my due date back to... Nov. 11th (my bday!), so that was crazy!  The baby is only 6 ounces and measuring a little over 17 weeks so that's why she pushed it back 10 days, we'll see if that still stands at our next appt!

18 wks today!

How your baby's growing:  Head to rump, your baby is about 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and he weighs almost 7 ounces. He's busy flexing his arms and legs — movements that you'll start noticing more and more in the weeks ahead.  ~babycenter.com

We have our first sonogram on Friday the 4th to find out what baby W is!!  We can't wait!  I'm feeling good, having some strange dreams and have noticed an increase in my appetite for sure.  I am carrying the baby pretty low and Jacob asked a few people this weekend what they thought it was and everyone said BOY, so we'll see!!
